This Christmas my themed bottles started with Scott suggesting that my bottles of Joy, Hope, and Peace needed Love added to the set. So I took his suggestion and painted an extra bottle I had saved…the only one left.
The three bottles and the Mason jar are painted in black acrylic paint then waxed with clear wax. The bottles are then painted with white acrylic paint and distressed with sand paper to reveal the black paint. I printed the word Love on waterslide decal paper using our inkjet printer.
The Mason jar is dry brushed with white acrylic paint to create a weathered look.
I stopped in the Merrifield Garden Center in Fairfax, VA to buy flowers. This was my first time in the garden center at Christmas as I had only discovered the shop this past Spring. At that time we bought several plants to expand our landscaping in our backyard and on our upper deck. Scott and I love our Bluejays, Cardinals, Gold Finches, Hummingbirds, and other birds; so we plant flowers that they will enjoy as much as we like looking at them.
The Christmas Shop was stunning…with several decorated Christmas trees and displays carefully positioned throughout the store, beautiful displays of holiday decorations, lots of Poinsettias, holiday plants, and greenery, and live trees and artificial ones. I could have spent hours looking through the store. Next Christmas I will do just that.
After looking at all the flowering plants; I chose a gorgeous red Cyclamen. Potted it into my painted quart Mason jar.
You can check out more Christmas themed bottles and Mason jars from last year.
I had to add a touch of coastal to my vignette with sea shells and the smell of coconut from my Yankee Candles.
We pray that during this Christmas season you find Joy, Love, Peace and Hope.
