Coastal Decor

Coastal Centerpiece lll

  • 04/04/2015

It’s a couple of weeks into Spring here and I’m ready to play in the dirt outside.

Today it’s very windy and have a few errands to run…so tomorrow after EASTER dinner with Scott; I’ll start working in the front flower gardens.

We have moved some plants back out on our deck…hoping we’re not too early…but sure the plants are happy.

I’m late with my Coastal Centerpiece III; but it finally came together.

We’ve been changing out some camera equipment; so I’ve been learning my new camera and the Olympus menus.

Also waiting on Adobe to recognize the RAW files from the new Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II.

Just couldn’t wait any longer.

Since it’s Spring I wanted flowers in the centerpiece.  I immediately thought of white tulips; but decided against fresh flowers.

And I didn’t have the time to plant bulbs and wait for the flowers to bloom.

So after walking through Merrifield’s Garden shop I spotted these pretty white Violas.

Back home, I planted them in my black and white painted jar with a shell decal; and two smaller clear Mason jars.

They will be planted in a pot under our lamp post.

White flowers are my favorite with red and magenta blooms probably tying for second.

Red flowers are Scott’s favorite…so we have lots of them…for the Hummingbirds too.

The basket was also painted in the black and white acrylic paint and distressed.

Six candles, white sea glass, shells and a starfish round out the centerpiece.

I almost forgot the GurglePot…it’s black so it blends into the background.

Here it is with the candles lit.

I’m having fun with the Coastal Centerpieces…and my still life photography.

Till Next Time!

We love to read your comments…so hope you will leave us one.

Happy Easter!
